   There was a brief period in which the Nazis had a political/"spiritual" interest in Tibetans and Tibetan Buddhism – 1938-39. This link explains it better.

   In short, it was tied into their own warped cosmologies – especially around the Swastika, and a slight thought that it would make sense to side with the enemies of the enemies of another Axis power (Japan being against China, and China being against Tibet).
